Lemons and leafy greens are two of the most alkalizing foods you can eat, and when juiced together they will help your body return to a slightly alkaline state—especially if you’ve recently overdone it with highly acidic foods such as meats and dairy. You’ll love the zesty sweet-and-sour flavor too.
Ingredients
2 cucumbers, quartered 2
1 red apple, cored and quartered 1
1/2 cup packed chopped spinach leaves 125 mL
1 stalk celery, chopped 1
1 lemon, peeled and halved 1
1/2 cup packed chopped kale leaves 125 mL
1 lime, peeled and halved 1
1 1/4-inch (0.5 cm) piece peeled gingerroot 1
Instructions
1. Using a juicer, process half each of the cucumbers, apple, spinach, celery, lemon, kale and lime, plus the ginger.
2. Following the same order, repeat with the remaining vegetables and fruit.
3. Whisk well and serve immediately.
